Ikoma Kougen Poppy Festival 

Roughly 250 000 poppy flowers are blooming and it is truly a sight to behold.

Kobayashi City Suki Noryo (Evening Breeze) Fireworks Festival 

Come and hear the Yamabiko fireworks reverberate through the mountains and see them paint the night sky in the most vibrant colors.

Lake Nojiri Festival

Hagi-no-chaya Flower Festival

Hagi-no-chaya is located along the National Highway Route 268 and is all about the blooming of "Hagi" flowers.

Suki Chestnut Festival

This festival is organized by local resistents. The wadaiko (Japanese drum) performance put on by students is absolutely worth it.

Ikoma Kougen Cosmos Festival

Held at Ikoma Kougen, this festival is set against the backdrop of roughly 1 million blooming cosmos flowers. Visitors can buy and enjoy various foods and local products. We also highly recommend the "Night Cosmos" portion of the event during which 20 000 candles and fireworks will illuminate the venue.

Suki Hoze Festival 

Gratitude for the year's plentilful harvest is expressed through ritual sumo matches. This festival has been celebrated in the Suki region since old times.

Labor Thanksgiving Day (November 23rd)

Kobayashi Autumn Festival

Get lost in the crowds at the city's largest event. Marvel at the traditional "goshinko" (Shinto) procession and clap your hands to the beat of the the drums as the parade passes through the center of the city.

Kobayashi Winter Festival

It seems Kobayashi was among the first to illuminate its inner city in Miyazaki prefecture. These days, the event focuses on the area around Kobayashi station, where vividly colored lightbulbs are used to provide some light during this darker time of the year.

Miyazaki Two-Day March Kobayashi - Kirishima Mountain Range Scenic Walk

This event features Miyazaki Prefecture's largest walking competition. Enjoy a walk along the base of the Kirishima Mountain Range and through Kobayashi City.

Makiba Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Festival 

Lined with 1000 blooming "somei-yoshino" trees, this "flower road" invites visitors to enjoy the beauty and abundance of the the cherry blossom. Local specialties, on-stage events and nighttime fireworks complete the experience.
