 「やさしいにほんご」とは、普通の日本語よりも簡単で、外国人にもわかりやすい日本語のことです。阪神・淡路大震災では、たくさんの外国人も被害を受けました。その中には、必要な情報を受け取ることができない人もいました。そこで、そうした人達に情報が届いて適切な行動をとれるようにと考え出されたのが「やさしいにほんご」です。「やさしいにほんご」は災害時だけでなく、平常時の外国人への情報提供手段としても有効です。
