Inaugural Message from Mayor Kenjirou Hori

As the newly elected mayor of Kobayashi City, I have accepted the heavy responsibility of serving this city. This city is full of charm and I believe it to be the duty of every citizen to do their utmost to promote it as such. I am working towards a bright future for Kobayashi, even richer in charm than before. Our city development strategy rests on the idea that citizens should be actively involved in the process of reshaping the city through cooperation.

For this purpose, we have set down 6 core policies:

1. Implementation depopulation counter measures, the nurturing/maintaining of key contributors
2. Enrichment of the educational environment
3. Improvement of child-rearing environment
4. Revitalization of the rural community and involvement of young people
5. Restoration of production and the promotion of collaboration among industry, government and academia
6. Strengthening of information transmission

We are striving towards building a city that people will choose as a place to live. A home where citizens will thrive as we support them in their challenges, and where a love for their place of birth is instilled.

I want to implement structures that will make childbirth and child rearing feel safe and nurture a culture of mutual support, together with the young generation.

Next to strengthening the regional economy through building connections and creating new value, we plan to spread the word of the many virtues of Kobayashi City.

Let us shape our own future and build a place which future generations can be proud of, of which they will say, “I am glad I was born here”, or “I want to keep on living here”, or “I want to return to Kobayashi”.
