Kobayashi's emblem comes from it's English equivalents initial K and uses its
citizens as a motif. The city's vision for the future will be symbolized by its
people, industry, history and nature at the foot of Kirishima Mountain.

The Fir
 

City Tree, The Fir


Well known as a garden tree or Christmas tree, the Fir
grows abundantly in the city's mountain forests. Within
the city limits it occupies 73% of the land area and is a
valuable forest resource.



The Cosmos
 

City Flower, The Cosmos

The Cosmos is widely known for its cute shape and
represents Autumn. Kobayashi City's well known
sightseeing spot Ikoma Plateau is celebrated for its
Cosmos flowers.



The Sakura
 

City Flowering Tree, The Sakura


The Sakura (Cherry Blossom) trees all bloom at the
same time and represent the change to spring. Even
outside of the city's parks there has been a revival of
Sakura planting by the city's residents.



The Green Dove
 

City Bird, The Green Dove


With its body a beautiful green, and a rapidly decreasing
population, it is well known as a protected bird. With
greater emphasis on conservation and prentiful
forests it is Kobayashi City's bird.



The Firefly
 

City Insect, The Firefly

The Firefly is evidence of our plentiful natural
environment. Through preservation, the city's spring
water and clear streams are valuable resources and as
such the Firefly is a significant symbol for the city.
